Yves Leclerc, the vice-president of French Federation of Naturism, said that young French couples with children were particularly responsible for the new surge in interest. “Young couples are attracted to naturist camping holidays because there is a far greater sense of family and conviviality in these spaces,” he told The Local. “The spirit of these campsites is far more about tranquility, security and conviviality,” he said, adding that the camps were an excellent place for children to play and learn. Many naturist holiday campsites are specifically family-orientated and provide a secure and communal environment as well as activities for naturist families, he explained.
NATURALISTS from Queensland joined up to 160 cyclists who took part in Byron’s Nude Bike Ride on Sunday afternoon.
“I participated in naked looping because it scared me a bit,” said musician Jonathan Wood Vincent, who played the accordion nude for much of the performance. “I have had a lot of judgments and insecurities about my body, and this helped to calm those down a little. It was a really honest pleasure taking care that we each felt comfortable and safe together while also transcending worries about physical insecurities and reveling in our natural state.”
Stripping myself down challenged my negative perceptions and made me embrace my “flaws.”
”When she got in the bath that night, she said: ‘I did something wrong, I’m in trouble’,” her mother Jessica said. ”This was a child in her element. Who could have complained about that? If she was in distress, sure, people should maybe call the cops then. She was totally carefree.
”It’s not long before she’ll lose that and become more body conscious.”
Chief executive of the Australian Childhood Foundation and registered psychologist Joe Tucci said raising community awareness about child abuse had inadvertently triggered ”widespread anxiety” instead of ”confidence”.
”In the past, adults would turn a blind eye. These days, more people respond … but not necessarily in a helpful way. In this case, the execution is not what I would have recommended.
If they didn’t care, why should I? I strolled from the locker room jaybird-like, wearing only a towel on my shoulder, and nobody cared. Years of programming lifted and I suddenly got it: It’s just skin. Is there really that much difference between bare and a bikini? Is there a powerful underwear lobby? Is it really that wrong to iron naked?
An article from Queenslander Weekend on Alexandria Bay and the Nude Beach Olympics
“At Alexandria Bay, it took me a while before I became entirely comfortable with the whole nudity-en-masse thing. I’ve been happily naked in front of other people before—in change-rooms, in Tokyo’s traditional bathhouses—but being naked in the wide, spanning expanse of a beach is an entirely different prospect altogether. Those initial handshakes might have felt awkward, but everyone said that as a first-time nudist, it wouldn’t take long before I would eventually understand the appeal. Soon after, I ran into the ocean—partly because it was hot; partly because I wanted to hide under the water—but right after I hit the ocean, I felt like a kid again and the world seemed bigger somehow. Dive after dive, my head ducking under the waves and my pale bum—caked on with sunscreen and poking out of the water like a blinding double-moon—it felt great. In fact, it felt completely natural”
